The iCONGO member benefits are designed to give member NGOs huge benefits in cash and kind. All the infrastructure created is available only for member NGOs sans any cost and thus is also a big monetary gain and a big advantage for all campaigning and fundraising activities for the member NGOs.
Pooled funds: These are funds raised through earned models like merchandise, raffles, band sales etc and not donations. Let's say we raise 10 crores net (after deducting costs of implementing and managing campaign- all details will be posted transparently on website) in 2009-10 through our drives and campaigns like the RIGHT every WRONG transparent band and public citizen advocacy campaign and other such initiatives. We shall distribute 60% of these funds to members NGOs. 40% of the funds shall be deployed for iCONGO public advocacy campaigns and initiatives for creating awareness and encouraging social justice and citizen action through the people sector. Pooled funds may also involve donations through our initiatives like Restaurants against Hunger. 100 % of these funds shall be used for hunger related programs. As a guiding principle, all funds from earned revenues or donations shall be disbursed after receiving a specific proposal from each member, with full accountability and transparency and efficient impact management details. The decision for the grant shall be based on the merit of the proposal. Quarterly reports are expected from all NGO members.
Funds driven through DSAs and online giving shall be directly channeled to respective charities based on the discretion and choice of the donor. iCONGO does not retain any percentage or success fee or admin fee from donations and channels 100% of a donors fund to the cause. This is a first in the world and the idea is to promote social action, responsibility and giving amongst individual Indian Citizens by creating gateways for them to give to credible, accredited and certified charities/ NGOs. This accreditation is done for iCONGO by reputed international and national management audit partners and citizen auditors and is calledTHE OMEGA RATING- Transparency & Accountability charter (TOR- TAC).The charter is written and endorsed by just, humane, responsible and concerned citizens from all sectors, who want to preserve the public trust in the people sector and be the change by being involved with transparent and accountable NGOs.
IMPORTANT: The revised iCONGO Advantage annuls all previous arrangements and all NGO members should use this for understanding what their benefits and advantages are. iCONGO has tried to provide the best possible services to its members through this. In addition to all other benefits, in return for a small investment, we have created a collective for building an Ecosystem for Social Justice through Citizen Action, by promoting Philanthropy for Social Justice and reclaiming and preserving public trust in the people sector as credible NGOs, who work with involvement from just, humane , responsible and concerned citizens and do not just chase money, as the work we do is built on passion and commitment and not just funding.
